A postage stamp to honor Mastro Raphael’s Maestria

A philatelic tribute to the craftmanship excellence of Made in Italy

We are pleased to announce that Mastro Raphael has received a prestigious recognition: the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp by Poste Italiane, as part of the series "Excellences of the Production and Economic System."

A tribute from the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, which chose to celebrate the unique value of a company that, for over fifty years, has combined craftsmanship, innovation, and refinement—establishing itself as a benchmark in both the national and international textile scene.

The postage stamp validation ceremony took place on April 4th in Rome, in the Salone degli Arazzi at the Ministry of Enterprises, in the presence of Minister Adolfo Urso and representatives of the companies selected for the 2025 issuance. Among these: Fendi, Loacker, and Basaltina, honored on the centenary of their founding; Mastro Raphael, Fratelli Antongini & Comp., Talarico, and Zegna Baruffa, featured in the thematic series “Excellences of the Production System and Made in Italy,” dedicated to the textile sector.

Mastro Raphael was represented by its founder, Mario Arcangeli, who attended the event and posed beside the giant reproduction of the commemorative stamp.

The stamp celebrates one of Mastro Raphael’s most iconic symbols: a finely embroidered bee on natural linen. An image that encapsulates the soul of the brand, highlighting the poetry of fabric and the timeless elegance of craftsmanship that tells stories through details.

Mastro Raphael was a pioneer in this approach, intuitively and creatively capturing the evocative power and aesthetic appeal of natural elements such as bees and coral. These images, rich in symbolism, have become distinctive traits of the brand’s identity through masterful craftmanship work—an expression of a wholly Italian tradition that harmoniously blends beauty, culture, and craftsmanship.

Founded in Spoleto in 1967 by a young and visionary Mario Arcangeli, Mastro Raphael emerged from the convergence of artistic craftsmanship, design culture, and tailoring care. Driven by a strong creative spirit and a deep bond with the Umbrian territory, Arcangeli created a company capable of reinventing the concept of home linens and interior decoration—reinterpreting techniques such as patchwork in a contemporary key and introducing the innovative idea of coordinated decorative fabric and home linen collections.

Today, Mastro Raphael is synonymous with manufacturing excellence, continuous research into material refinement, and meticulous attention to detail. Its collections range from curtain fabrics to bed linens, from rugs to table linens and bath linens, and a wide array of home accessories. These creations adorn residences, boutique hotels, and historic homes in Italy and around the world and promoting a piece of Italian culture made of artisanal wisdom, savoir-faire, and passion.
